AS A JUNIOR: One of the top RBI producers on the team, as well as a highly dependable defensive presence at shortstop ... excelled defensively, committing just six errors while starting all 61 games for the Irish at shortstop ... established career season-highs for home runs (seven) and RBI (43) in 2002 ... also stole eight bases in ‘02 ... led the team with 14 multi-RBI games in 2002 ... also had 16 multiple-hit games and compiled a nine-game hit streak from April 6 - 14 ... had back-to-back stellar efforts at St. John’s (game two) and at Seton Hall (game one), going six for eight with four RBI and a double ... top single-game effort of the season came at a crucial time, during the 2002 BIG EAST Championship ... with the Irish facing elimination against Villanova, she went three for four with three RBI (including driving in the run to cut the Wildcat lead to one and an insurance run to make it 6-4) and two doubles ... launched her first home run of the season against #4 Oklahoma, highlighting a three-for-three day at the plate ... blasted a three-run home run against Valparaiso in game one of the doubleheader and followed up by driving in two more runs in the second game ... drew a walk with the bases loaded to put Notre Dame up 4-0 against Boston College, the Irish would end up holding on for a 4-3 victory in the game.
AS A SOPHOMORE: One of Notre Dame’s top run producers on the team with 30 RBI in 2001 (tied for fourth on the team) ... finished the season tied for first on the team with 14 doubles ... capped off her sophomore campaign with an impressive showing at the NCAA Region VII Tournament, earned all-tourney honors after an eight-for-14 performance (.571) with two double and three RBI in five games ... started 55 of 57 games ... missed four contests after suffering a knee injury at Syracuse ... returned to the starting lineup full-time at Virginia Tech ... crushed first home run of her career vs. South Florida in the Holiday Inn Invitational (Tampa, Fla.) ... scored game-winning run in Notre Dame’s upset of #4 Washington with a hustle infield single to lead off the bottom of the seventh, stealing second, moving to third on a sacrifice bunt and scoring on a Jenny Kriech single ... went two for four with a two-RBI triple vs. Hofstra ... had a two-for-two performance vs. Jacksonville State, including the game-winning three-RBI double in the bottom of the third inning ... posted her second-consecutive game-winning hit later that day vs. Chattanooga, with an RBI double in the sixth ... had a three-RBI double in a six-run Notre Dame inning vs. Utah State ... led the team in hitting with a two-for-three performance, two RBI and two doubles against #7 Fresno State in Notre Dame’s 4-2 upset victory ... went two for three in Notre Dame’s 1-0 victory at Connecticut ... scorched Syracuse hitting in game one of a doubleheader, going three for four with two RBI ... doubled in Jarrah Myers for the game-winning run in the second inning of a 5-0 victory over Providence.
AS A FRESHMAN: One of three freshmen (Andrea Loman, Alexis Madrid) in Notre Dame’s starting lineup, starting all 61 games at third base ... also has seen playing time at shortstop ... earned second-team all-BIG EAST and BIG EAST all-rookie team honors ... two-time BIG EAST Rookie of the Week on April 3 and March 13 ... all-tournament selection at the State Line Classic in Bristol, Tenn., going six for 11 and driving in the winning run against Virginia Tech (1-0) ... collected first career hit against UC-Santa Barbara, going four for four at the plate ... posted 11 multi-hit games and four multi-RBI games ... had a nine-game hitting streak from March 25 to April 2, third-longest on the team in 2000 ... hit five game-winning RBI and scored two game-winning runs ... did not commit an error on defense in her first 22 games ... first career extra-base hit was a triple in a loss to Arkansas ... came back in second half of doubleheader against the Lady Razorbacks to drive in the winning run on a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning ... had a season-high six assists vs. Arizona State ... her second career double came in the team’s upset of 16th-ranked Louisiana-Lafayette, driving in classmate Andrea Loman in the fourth inning ... began nine-game hitting streak with a two-for-four performance in the team’s rout of Kent State on March 25 ... collected her second rookie-of-the-week award April 3 after hitting .533 (8-for-15) with four runs scored, a pair of doubles, a triple and three RBI in five games ... she also had the game-winning RBI in Notre Dame’s 3-0 win over Connecticut, going two for three with a run scored ... three for four with a run scored vs. Providence.
PREP & PERSONAL: Earned four letters in softball at Highland High School in Gilbert, Ariz. ... played at third, shortstop and second under coach Tom McCann ... team was regional champion her freshman, sophomore and senior seasons ... Highland captured Eastern Conference titles her freshman and sophomore seasons ... a second-team all-state and first-team all-conference player as a senior ... earned East Valley Conference Player of the Year and East Valley All Star first-team honors in 1999 ... named to the all-conference first team as a junior and second team as a sophomore ... team captain and team MVP as a senior ... set Highland school records for hits in a season (52), RBI in a season (35), doubles in a season (13) and triples in a season (eight) ... led conference in batting average (.495) and on-base percentage (.585) in 1999 ... played in high school all star game as a senior after helping Highland to a 26-6 season ... played summer ball for the Li’l Saints based out of Phoenix, Ariz. ...
