in a Notre Dame uniform for her final campaign
with the Irish ... rewarded with her
breakout season by taking a seat on the all-BIG
EAST first team ... all-NFCA Mideast Region
first team selection, posting the best numbers of
any outfielder on the squad ... led team with
.370 batting average, 60 hits and 13 sacrifices ...
had six doubles, 14 RBI and a .407 slugging
percentage ... totaled nine stolen bases ... made
56 starts and saw action in 59 contests ... tied
for first in the league with nine sacrifice bunts
and second in hits (32) and batting average
(.457) ... her on-base percentage of .486 ranked
sixth in league play ... shared the outfield with
a pair of all-leaguers in Ashley Ellis and Brianna
Jorgensborg ... had two hits against UC Davis

going 1-for-3 with a double and a score against
Auburn (Feb. 17) ... 1-for-3 against UNLV (Feb.
24) ... 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored
against Ole Miss (Feb. 25) ... scored the gamewinning
run against the Rebels ... pinch ran and
scored a run against Virginia (March 3) ... went
2-for-3 with two runs scored and a stolen base
against Eastern Kentucky (March 11) ... scored
the game-winning run against Fresno State
(March 16) at the Judi Garman Classic ... scored
a run against IUPUI (March 22) ... scored a run
as a pinch runner against St. John's (March 24)
... stole a base as a pinch runner against Seton

open the BIG EAST Tournament ... had a hit
and scored a run in the championship game of
the BIG EAST Tournament against Louisville
(May 12) ... saw action in each of the team's
three games at the NCAA Tournament.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2006): Established
herself as one of the team's top base running
threats ... made her first career start in left field
versus Cal Poly SLO (March 12) and posted her
first career hit, finishing the game 1-for-2 ...
also started in left for the Irish at Cal State
Fullerton (Feb. 19) ... picked up her third stolen
base of the season versus Texas (March 18) ...
started in left during the second of two games
with Eastern Michigan (April 4) ... also started
in that spot against DePaul (April 13) ... started
game two against Rutgers (April 23) and
logged her second hit of the year, a solid single
to centerfield ... picked up her first career
multi-hit game against Purdue (April 26), going
2-for-3 with a run scored and one RBI ... also
wrapped up the contest with Valparaiso by
going 1-for-3 ... scored a run as a pinch runner
against UC Santa Barbara (May 18) in the
NCAA Tournament.
AS A FRESHMAN (2005): Made 41
appearances throughout her first year with the
Irish ... served primarily as a pinch runner ...
scored on 14 occasions ... saw action
at the dish with a trio of pinch-hitting
cameos ... crossed the plate four
times to score game-winning runs
for the Irish.
THE SMITH FILE: Three-sport
standout at Heritage Hall
