NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Christine Lux posted her third career two-home run output Wednesday at Melissa Cook Stadium to lead No. 24 Notre Dame to a 3-2 win over visiting Georgetown, capping off a BIG EAST Conference doubleheader sweep. Notre Dame won the opener behind Jody Valdivia's complete-game shutout, 5-0.

Notre Dame (31-6 overall, 10-0 BIG EAST) will stay at home for a Thursday (April 15) contest against Cleveland State.

Each of Notre Dame's three runs in the nightcap came from solo home runs, with Katie Fleury collecting a solo blast in the third. Lux homered in the third and sixth innings.

The Irish are the lone BIG EAST team undefeated in league play and have won each of their 11 home games in 2010.

-Game 1-

Valdivia (24-3) struck out 12 and issued one free pass between two hits in 7.0 innings to capture the game-one win. Mackensey Carter (7-12) gave up eight hits and one earned run in the loss for Georgetown (15-22, 5-6). Her cause was hindered by four Hoya errors.

Heather Johnson had two hits in four at-bats with Fleury and Miller adding one RBI apiece. Miller homered while Johnson, Lux and Alexia Maldonado each doubled.

Notre Dame swiped four stolen bags to help push runners around the pond.

The Irish posted a three-spot in the fourth and two more runs in the sixth to help preserve the blanking behind eight hits.

-Game 2-

Defense was the name of the game as Notre Dame worked to strand 13 Hoyas on base. Valdivia got the win after relieving Brittany O'Donnell, who spanned 3.2 innings in the start and gave up two earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts.

Sadie Pitzenberger had a pair of huge assists from leftfield, gunning down two Hoya runners at home plate to end two separate frames.

Kelsie Hanson had three hits and Carter drove in two runs with a third-inning home run. Notre Dame answered with solo bombs by Fleury and Lux, as Lux's second dinger proved to be the game-winner in the bottom of the sixth.

Georgetown had 11 hits compared to Notre Dame's seven.

The game ended with a lineout to Miller, who flipped the rock to Lux at first for a double play with two Georgetown runners on base.

Valdivia got her second win of the day in 3.1 innings of scoreless six-hit ball.

Brianna Jorgensborg tripled for Notre Dame in the contest, with Pitzenberger adding a double.
