Softball Sweeps Doubleheader on the Road

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.-- Notre Dame's softball team used a strong offensive performance and solid pitching to sweep Indiana 2-0 and 9-3 in a doubleheader at the IU Softball Field.

Freshman Jennifer Sharron pitched a three-hit shutout in the first game, Melanie Alkire had an RBI and a run in the first gaqme. Alkire picked up the win in the second game.

The wins improve Notre Dame's record to 21-18 while Indiana falls to 9-25-1. The Irish return home for a Thursday, April 16, doubleheader against Butler at Ivy Field.
