    Sophomore Erin Marrone is returning for her second season with the Irish softball team. During her freshman campaign, she contributed at various positions for the Irish, playing in 55 games, with 48 starts. The Alexandria, Va. native ended the 2008 season with 16 runs, 27 hits and six stolen bases.

    1. If you could trade places with Coach Gumpf for a day, what would you do?

    I’d have the team play Wiffle Ball at practice.

    2. When you were little, who was your favorite cartoon character?

    Gumby.

    3. If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

    Bono because he’s really cool.

    4. What do you miss the most about being at home?

    My dog.

    5. If you were stranded on an island, what three things would you want to have with you?

    A toothbrush, a pillow, and a good book.

    6. What is your most embarrassing moment on the field?

    I had a pop fly fall on my head at practice when I was nine, and I asked to go home.

    7. What’s your theme song?

    “In My Life” by the Beatles.

    8. Growing up playing softball, I always pretended to be …

    Derek Jeter.

    9. What is your favorite memory with your Irish teammates?

    5 AM workouts.

    10. What television show would you like to make a cameo on?

    “Cash Cab”

    11. Where do you want to be in 10 years?

    On vacation in St. Croix.

    12. Do you have any pre-game rituals/superstitions?

    I’m not superstitious at all.

    13. If a movie was made about your life, what would the title be and who would play you?

    It would be called “Tripped Up” and Sandra Bullock would play me.


     

     

    14. Do you have any nicknames?

    Bambi and Roni.

    15. What artist takes up most of your iPod/music player?

    Dave Matthews.

    16. Where is your favorite place at Notre Dame?

    On my futon in my dorm room.

    17. What’s the most notable thing about your hometown?

    My hometown is Alexandria, Virginia, and “Remember the Titans” is based there.

    18. Other than the Irish, what is your favorite sports team?

    The Chicago Cubs.

    19. What would be your dream job?

    A lawyer.

    20. What does being part of the Fighting Irish mean to you?

    It means everything to me!
