NOTRE DAME, Ind. - University of Notre Dame sophomore Emilee Koerner has been named BIG EAST Conference Softball Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced Monday. Koerner (Tustin, Calif./Foothill) previously won the conference's top weekly honor on Feb. 25.

The Irish center fielder had the most productive weekend of her Notre Dame career during a three-game sweep of Seton Hall last weekend, batting .900 (9-for-10) with two doubles, three home runs, five RBI, two stolen bases, a 2.000 slugging percentage, a .909 on-base percentage and seven runs scored out of the leadoff spot in the order. Koerner outscored Seton Hall 7-5 on her own during the three-game set. Due to the three Notre Dame run-rule wins, the team only played 15 total innings during the series.

Koerner also increased her BIG EAST leading batting average to .543 for the season, and extended her consecutive game on-base streak to 29 straight contests.

Notre Dame pitcher Laura Winter (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo) earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll recognition for the second consecutive week. The junior right-hander went 2-0 against Seton Hall, allowing six hits and no walks with 16 strikeouts in eight full innings pitched. Winter also made an impact at the plate during the series, batting .556 (5-for-9) with three doubles, two home runs and a team-best 12 RBI. Her six runs batted in during Saturday's second game was one RBI from equaling Notre Dame's single-game program record.

The Irish travel to Western Michigan Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. before opening the 2013 home schedule against Green Bay Thursday at 5 p.m. inside Melissa Cook Stadium.
