Senior Brittney Bargar was named the BIG EAST Conference Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday. The righty finished last week with a 3-0 record and a 0.33 ERA.
Bargar held conference opponents to just one earned run in 14.0 innings of work. Her decisions from the circle were all complete-game performances, highlighted by an eight-strikeout blanking of Wisconsin on April 14. Against league foes, Bargar went 2-0 with a 0.50 ERA after a 3-0 win over Villanova (April 18) and a 4-1 decision against Rutgers (April 19).
The Irish welcome Northwestern to Melissa Cook Stadium tomorrow (April 21) at 6:00 p.m. (ET).
