NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The University of Notre Dame Softball team will be holding a raffle throughout the 2007 football season to help raise money for the team's fall break tour across Italy. Tickets will be sold outside the Hammes Bookstore on Notre Dame's campus each Friday before home football games. Mail-in forms can be found in the softball section of und.com.
The grand prize winner will receive two tickets to the football team's 2008 game against Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass., along with hotel and travel accommodations.
Tickets are $5 each and six can be purchased for $25.
Head coach Deanna Gumpf and her squad will trek through Italy from Oct. 19-28, including stops in Rome, Florence and Venice. Upon leaving Venice, the team will travel to the town of Forli (near San Marino) where they will compete against a compilation of players from the professional Italian softball league and members of the Italian national team.
