NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Behind a strong pitching effort and timely base hits, the Notre Dame softball team closed its fall schedule with a 4-3 win over Western Michigan Wednesday night at Melissa Cook Stadium.

Freshman Casey Africano (Huntington Beach, Calif.) closed her sizzling fall with a solo home run over the wall in right center field to spark the Fighting Irish offense. Africano hit four round trippers in four starts during the autumn slate.
