Had a solid season for the Irish in 2003... won her first BIG EAST title as a member of the 400 freestyle relay... earned all-BIG EAST honors as a member of the 400 and 800 freestyle relays at the conference meet... will be counted on again to contribute in the middle distances and the backstroke events. AS A SOPHOMORE: Had an excellent season for the Irish... won her first BIG EAST championship and earned all-BIG EAST honors as a member of the 400 freestyle relay team ... swam the second leg for the Irish... placed sixth in the 100 back, seventh in the 200 backstroke and 11th in the 200 freestyle at the BIG EAST meet... swam the anchor leg of the 800 freestyle relay team which earned all-BIG EAST honors after placing third at the conference meet... posted the second fastest time on the Irish roster in the 200 freestyle (1:51.40) and the third fastest time in the 200 backstroke (2:00.83) and fourth in the 100 backstroke (56.73) ... swam the third leg of the winning 400 freestyle relay against Bowling Green, Louisville and Saint Louis and the week before against Michigan and Illinois... won the 200 freestyle against Pittsburgh... placed first in the 500 freestyle and second in the 100 and 200 backstroke events against Indiana... also won the 500 free against Colorado State. AS A FRESHMAN: Competed in the 100, 200 and 500 freestyle and the 100 and 200 backstroke ... posted best time of 54.04 in the 100 free vs. Illinois and Iowa ... swam a 1:52.84 against Northwestern in the 200 free ... swam season-bests of 5:01.62 in the 500 free and 57.61 in the 100 back at the Minnesota Invitational ... qualified for the BIG EAST Championships in the 200 freestyle, 100 and 200 backstroke events ... swam year-best time of 2:04.42 in the 200 back at the BIG EAST meet . . .posted the third-fastest 200 free time on Irish roster in 2002-03, trailing only Heidi Hendrick and Lisa Garcia ... had fourth-best time in the 100 back and the fifth-fastest time in the 500 free and the 200 backstroke ... placed 10th at the BIG EAST meet in the 100 backstroke, 15th in the 200 back and 25th in the 200 freestyle. HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: Ranked number-one female for her age-group in Egypt and number-two in Rio de Janeiro when she lived in Brazil as a freshman ... four-year letterwinner in swimming ... participated in junior nationals in both 1999 and 2000 ... set school records in the 100 and 200 backstroke, the 100 and 200 freestyle and the 200 individual medley at Cairo American College her sophomore through senior years ... earned all-conference, all-city and all-country honors as a junior and senior ... most valuable swimmer as a sophomore, junior and senior ... was undefeated as a sophomore, junior and senior in swimming ... also ran track and field and played softball and soccer in high school ... set the school record in the 400, 800- and 1,500-meter runs ... also was most valuable athlete in track and field as a sophomore and senior, completing undefeated seasons ... was team captain as a senior of both swimming and soccer teams ... also was most valuable player of the soccer team her senior season ... born Sept. 26, 1983, in London, England ... enrolled in the College of Science, majoring in biology. |
