The men and women's swimming and diving teams hosted Purdue on November 6th at the Rolfs Aquatic Center.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Specialized in the one and 3-meter dives ... won the BIG EAST 3-meter dive for second year in a row with a score of 337.40, which set a new BIG EAST meet record ... also earned All-BIG EAST accolades in the 1-meter dive (301.60), finishing second ... competed in the 1 and 3-meter dives at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships ... finished 12th in the 3-meter (578.85) and 14th in the 1-meter (532.85) ... won the 3-meter dive (307.55) and placed second in the 1-meter dive (291.80) at the Shamrock Invitational ... won the 1-meter (290.10) and 3-meter (316.73) dives in a dual meet against Utah ... won the 1-meter dive (297.75) in a dual meet versus Ball State ... placed sixth in the 1-meter dive (266.10) and fourth in the 3-meter dive (291.80) at the Hawkeye Invitational ... earned a Monogram.
AS A FRESHMAN: Claimed her first BIG EAST title with a gold medal off the 3-meter spring board at the league meet ... her performance of 313.35 points was her second best performance on the year ... also topped out at the 1-meter height at the league meet with a score of 280.85 ... the 1-meter finals performance was over 25 points better than her preliminary session while the 3-meter finals total was greater than 50 points higher than the preliminary session ... top 3-meter performance was recorded at the Hoosierland Invitational with a total of 335.55 points, which was good for a third place finish ... claimed three top three finishes on the dual meet season, two of which were at the 3-meter height ... dove to a ninth place finish at the NCAA Zone Championships.
THE CHIANG FILE: Four-year letterwinner at Fairport (N.Y.) under head coach Dave Saimon ... four-time conference champion ... team captain during senior season ... earned All-America honors in each of her four varsity seasons ... set school, area and New York's Section 5 record for six and 11 dives (1-meter) ... placed fifth on the 1-meter at Junior Nationals ... member of National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society ... daughter of Alice and Joe Chiang ... born March 16, 1991, in Rochester, N.Y. ... has one sister, Tiffany ... enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business.
