The Men and Women of the Fighting Irish Swimming and Diving teams hosted Iowa and Ohio State this weekend.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Breaststroke and individual medley specialist who turned in three career-best swims over the course of the season ... competed in the 50 free (23.78), 100 breast (1:02.12), and 200 breast (2:13.86) at the BIG EAST Championships, setting lifetime best times as well as NCAA B-cuts in the 100 and 200 breaststroke ... turned in another career-best time in the 200 IM (2:07.90) at the Ohio State Invitational ... won first place in the 100 breast in a dual meet against Michigan State ... aided the 400 medley relay to a silver medal in the same meet against Michigan State ... swam at the U.S. Olympic Trials, finishing T-77th in the 100 breast at the long course meet ... earned a Monogram.
AS A FRESHMAN: Specialized in the 100 and 200 breast and the 200 individual medley ... swam all three events at the BIG EAST Championships, turning in season bests with times of 1:03.49 in the 100 breast, 2:20.71 in the 200 breast and 2:12.57 in the IM ... also swam the 100 fly at the Shamrock Invitational in 1:01.49 ... earned a Monogram.
THE MCDONOUGH FILE: Competed for Charlotte Catholic High School (N.C.) ... was the 3A state champ in the 100 breast and held the state record in the event at the time of graduation ... enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters and is a double major in psychology and anthropology.
