Valparaiso and Wisconsin Dual Meets - Nov. 15-16, 2013

The Irish welcomed Valpo and Wisconsin to Rolfs for dual meets Nov. 15-16, 2013.

AS A SENIOR (2014-15): Competed at the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive year, swimming in three individual events … had best finish in the 200 fly (34th – 1:57.72) and also participated in the 100 fly (46th – 53.51) and the 100 back (46th – 54.67) … claimed seventh in the finals of the 200 fly (NCAA B Cut - 1:58.18) at the ACC Championships … in addition, placed 17th overall in the 100 fly (NCAA B Cut – 53.49) while swimming a leg of four relay squads that finished in the top 10 … the 400 medley relay team took fourth (NCAA B Cut – 3:35.00), the 200 medley (NCAA B Cut – 1:38.39) and the 400 free (3:19.95) relays placed seventh and the 200 free relay (1:32.78) claimed 10th … helped lower Rolfs Aquatics Center pool records in the 200 medley relay (1:40.33) and the 400 medley relay (3:39.21) at the Shamrock Invitational … also won the 200 fly (1:58.70) and finished second in the 400 free relay (3:27.44) … opened year with a relay victory (200 medley) against Michigan State … assisted the 200 medley relay team (1:43.59) in winning at a double dual meet against Georgia Tech and South Carolina … finished second in the 200 fly (2:03.95) at the same meet … helped the 200 medley relay team (1:42.16) win in a dual meet against No. 24 Purdue … finished second in the 200 back (2:04.06) in the same meet … swam on both the winning 200 medley (1:42.59) and 400 medley (3:43.29) relay squads in a double dual against Pitt and Virginia Tech … helped the 200 medley relay squad (1:43.12) win and the 400 free relay team (3:27.88) place second in a dual win over Illinois … swam in the “A” final of the 200 fly at the Texas Invitational, finishing fifth in NCAA B cut time of 1:58.46 … swam a leg of the second place 200 medley relay team (1:43.03) in a double dual against Michigan and Northwestern … helped the 200 medley relay team (1:43.59) place second in a double dual against No. 24 Wisconsin and No. 14 Indiana … won the 100 back (57.93), the 100 fly (56.86) and the 200 medley relay (1:45.47) in a dual meet against Cleveland State … had best time on the team in the 200 fly (1:56.97 – ACCs) … other best individual times included 53.95 in the 100 free (Auburn/Vanderbilt), 54.67 in the 100 back (NCAAs), 2:04.06 in the 200 back (Purdue), 53.49 in the 100 fly (ACCs) and 2:03.93 in the 200 IM (Texas) … competed in three events at the Phillips 66 National Championships ... finished 66th in 50-meter fly (28.66), 72nd in the 100m fly (1:02.11) and 75th in the 200m fly (2:19.54) ... participated in the Rosenthal Leadership Academy … served as a tri-captain with teammates Allison Casareto and Bridget Casey … named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll … earned a monogram.

AS A JUNIOR (2013-14): Turned in breakout year for the Irish in qualifying for her first NCAA meet ... swam with the 200 and 400 medley relay teams at the NCAA Championships, helping the former finish 18th in 1:38.00, and the later take 22nd place in 3:36.28 ... had a spectacular meet at the ACC Championships ... was part of two school record relay teams - the 400 medley (3:33.93) and the 200 medley (1:37.61) - as they finished in second and third place, respectively ... also took ninth in the 200 free relay (1:32.71), ninth in the 200 fly (1:58.30), 14th in the 100 fly (54.08) and 18th in the 100 back (54.06) ... time in the 100 back was an NCAA B cut and a career best while the 200 fly mark was also a career best ... swam a career-best time of 53.44 in the 100 fly at the Hawkeye Invitational prelims ... participated in the Rosenthal Leadership Academy ... earned a monogram.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2012-13): Registered three top-10 finishes at the 2013 BIG EAST Championships, which included two sixth-place finishes in the 100 fly (54.93) and 200 fly (2:00.50) and a 10th-place showing in the 100 back (55.19) ... 100 and 200 fly times were personal bests times and substantial improvements from freshman campaign ... swam to another personal best in the 100 free with a lead-off split of 52.65 at the Shamrock Invitational ... clocked in at 5:01.41 in the 500 free at the Ohio State Invitational, which was nearly three seconds faster than last season ... recorded a career-best 1:53.12 in the 200 free in a third-place performance at the Shamrock Invitational ... collected four individual top-three finishes on the dual meet slate ... was a member of the victorious 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay at the Shamrock Invitational ... swam in the winning 800 free relay at the Dennis Stark Relays ... was the third-fastest performer in the 200 butterfly for the 2012-13 squad and collected three of the top 10 performances in the event over the same time span ... earned a monogram.

AS A FRESHMAN (2011-12): Saw action for the Irish in freestyle, backstroke and fly events in first year ... posted best 100 free time of the season (54.27) at the Shamrock Invitational ... swam to a career-best time in the 500 free (5:04.34) at the Ohio State Invitational ... led off the 200 medley relay at the same meet, recording best 50 back time (26.74) of the season ... competed for the Irish in dual meets against Purdue, Louisville, Ball State, Auburn, Pittsburgh, and Michigan/Northwestern ... earned a monogram.

HIGH SCHOOL & PERSONAL: Graduated from Campolindo High School (Calif.) in the spring of 2011 ... lettered four years in swimming, specializing in the 100 fly and 200 free ... was all-conference three times and was a conference champion as a sophomore, junior and senior ... named team captain as a senior ... earned three Academic All-America placards in the classroom ... volunteered in spare time to be a Special Olympics swim coach ... also was a Del Amigo Swim Association Recreational swim coach ... earned the American Association of Undergraduate Women Scholarship in 2011 ... participated in the sports medicine team at Campolindo, earning the Sports Medicine Student of the Year award in 2011 ... competed for the Orinda Aquatics club team ... named team captain, while earning the Coaches and Most Inspirational awards ... also a national qualifier with Orinda ... born to Mike and Lynn Whyte in San Ramon, California ... has an older brother, Ryan ... brother played rugby at Oregon and grandfather played football at California ... graduated from the College of Science with a science pre-professional degree.
