The Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams took on Michigan State at home on January 21st.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Specialized in the freestyle stroke, competing at a variety of distances ... swam in the 200, 500 and 1,650 free and 800 free relay at the BIG EAST Championships ... best 200 (1:52.02) came in a meet versus LSU and Auburn ... swam 4:58.19 in the 500 free at the BIG EAST Championships for a season best ... swam final leg in the 800 free relay as Irish finished fourth in a season-best 7:19.79 ... best 1,000 freestyle (10:16.63) came in a dual meet versus Michigan State in picking up the win ... also earned victory against the Spartans in the 500 free (5:02.22) ... claimed second in the 500 free (4:59.30) in a meet versus LSU and Auburn ... won the 1,000 free (10:15.51) and placed second in the 500 free (5:00.06) in a dual meet versus Utah ... claimed second in the 200 free (1:52.45) in a dual meet versus Purdue ... placed third in the 1,000 free (10:16.95) in a meet versus Michigan and Northwestern ... won the 1,000 free (10:24.73) in a dual meet versus Ball State ... also competed in the 200 and 400 individual medleys at the Shamrock Invitational ... earned a Monogram.
AS A FRESHMAN: Established herself as the top distance freestyler for the Irish in her initial season ... held the top team times on the season in the 500, 1,000 and 1,650 free events ... set three personal-best times at the BIG EAST Championships ... performances included times of 4:49.82 in the 500 free (4th), 16:42.89 in the 1,650 free (4th) and 1:49.74 in the 200 free (6th) ... her performance in the 500 free was an NCAA B-cut time ... set an additional top time on the season in the 200 back at the Shamrock Invitational with a time of 2:06.43 ... paced herself to a time of 10:08.03 in the 1,000 free against Louisville for her top time on the season ... touched the pad in a time of 4:27.36 in the 400 IM at the Hoosierland Invitational for a personal-best time ... claimed five of the top 10 500 free team times on the season for the Irish.
THE FREDLAKE FILE: Swam four years at Tampa Preparatory (Fla.) and earned four varsity letters ... garnered All-America recognition in each of her four years in the 500 free, 200 free and 200 IM ... holds six school records ... four-time conference champion ... three-time regional champion ... two-time team captain and three-time MVP ... four-time all- conference, all-city and all-state performer ... actively involved in school's National Honor Society and French Honor Society ... daughter of Laurel and James Fredlake ... born April 23, 1991 ... has one sister, Hannah ... third member of her extended family to attend Notre Dame ... enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business.
