200 freestyle swimmer in Notre Dame history
... a valuable swimmers who is able to
post outstanding times in the freestyle and
backstroke disciplines ... part of the school
record-holding 800 freestyle relay team ... a
three-year monogram winner.
AS A JUNIOR
Finished eighth at the
BIG EAST Championships in the 200
freestyle ... her preliminary time of 1:50.23
was the third-fastest by an individual Notre
Dame swimmer in 2006 ... swam a 2:04.07 in
finishing ninth in the 200 backstroke with a
2:04.07 mark ... was a key member of the
800 freestyle relay team that swam a 7:19.46,
which was the second fastest time ever by a
Notre Dame group at the BIG EAST
Championships ... the team's time also
earned an all-BIG EAST honor for members
of the squad.
AS A SOPHOMORE:
Enjoyed an outstanding
sophomore campaign which saw
her break the Notre Dame school record in
the 200 freestyle at the BIG EAST
Championships ... her record effort came in
the finals of the 200 free, finishing second in
1:49.20 ... ended up posting NCAA "B" cuts
in the 200 free and 500 freestyle (4:49.83) ...
two-time BIG EAST champion in 2005, playing
a part in the winning 400 freestyle and
800 freestyle relay teams ... the 800
freestyle team finished in 7:16.95 to set the
school record ... also earned all-BIG EAST
honors in the 200 freestyle (second) and
500 freestyle (second) ... claimed 10 individual
victories during the 2004-05 dual
meet season and added another 10 on relay
teams. ... part of the record breaking 800
freestyle relay team (7:32.87) from the
Dennis Stark Relays ... also a member of the
500 crescendo freestyle relay team that
were the heat winner with a record setting
time of 4:32.50.
AS A FRESHMAN
One of Notre Dame's
top performers during the regular season in
2003-04 ... posted NCAA "B" cuts in 200 free
(1:50.37) and 200 back (2:01.29) ... took part
in 800 free relay that broke Notre Dame
record in finishing second in BIG EAST
Championships (7:20.12) ... also helped set
Notre Dame meters record in 800 free relay
(8:20.92) against Illinois and in 400 free relay
(3:51.80) vs. Michigan ... team leader in 200
free and ranked second on Irish in 200 back
(2:01.29), as well as third in 500 free
(4:59.72), fourth in 100 free (52.50), and fifth
in 100 back (57.79) ... qualified for the conference
meet in six events, including the 50
free (season-best 24.83) ... during regular
season, ranked among top five in the BIG
EAST in both 200 free (fourth) and 200 back
... helped set meet records in 400 free relay
(3:33.72) and 800 free relay (7:53.38) in
Dennis Stark Relays ... co-recipient of the
Beeler-Hipp Award, which is presented to
outstanding freshmen who best exemplify
the vitality, competitiveness, and love for
Notre Dame shown by Meghan Beeler and
Colleen Hipp in their freshman year prior to
their deaths in a bus accident in 1992.
