The Irish played host to Iowa in the annual Shamrock Invitational Jan. 31 - Feb. 1, 2014.

AS A JUNIOR (2015-16): Strong mid-distance and distance freestyler who made significant improvements in third season under the dome ... started the year at Dennis Stark Relays, exhibitioning on 400 medley relay (56.45 split), 300 back relay (1:00.93 split) and 400 free relay (57.03 split) ... against Michigan State, took fourth in 1,000 free (10:33.11) and sixth in 500 free (5:11.91) ... at Purdue the next day, swam 1,000 free in 10:35.52 and clocked in at 5:14.88 in 500 free ... at Virginia Tech, swam on sixth-place 800 free relay (1:59.85 split) and finished ninth in 1,650 free (17:42.76), 0th in 500 free (5:14.39) and 12th in 200 free (2:01.56) ... at Purdue Invitational, wam 1,650 free in 17:03.56, good for 14th ... also dove in on 500 free (5:02.56 finals, 5:03.04 prelims), 200 free (1:54.98 finals, 1:54.28 prelims), 100 free (54.93 prelims) and 400 free relay (53.84 split) ... at Virginia, finished seventh in 1,000 free (10:37.49) and came in eighth twice (500 free, 5:11.46, 200 free, 1:59.16) ... against Northwestern, swam 1,000 free in 10"25.17 and 500 free in 5:05.35 ... in Shamrock Invitational, finished second in 1,650 free (17:20.71), fourth on 800 free relay (1:55.15 split) and fifth in 500 free (5:11.46) ... also touched the wall in 1:55.85 in 200 free, 56.67 in 100 free and split 56.75 leading off 400 free relay ... finished the year at Michigan First Chance meet, taking first place in the 200 free (1:53.00), 500 free (4:57.63) and 1,650 free (17:14.92) ... time-trialed in 100 free to the tune of 54.11 ... elected captain for 2016-17 season.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2014-15): Specialized in the freestyle events for the second year in a row ... saved best showing for end of year ACC Championships ... claimed 19th in the 1,650 free (17:04.93 -- season best) ... finished second in both the 500 (5:18.88) and the 1,000 free (10:48.74) events in a dual meet against Cleveland State ... had best time of season in 1,000 free (10:34.28) against Illinois ... went a season-best 1:54.23 in the 200 free at the ACC Championships ... swam the 500 free in a season-best time of 4:54.86 at the Texas Invitational ... best 100 free time (55.50) came at the Texas Invitational ... earned a monogram.

AS A FRESHMAN (2013-14): Freestyle swimmer who competed in sprint and distance events in addition to relays ... swam the 1,650 free at the ACC Championships, claiming 20th place in 17:09.57 ... placed 13th out of 46 swimmers in the 500 yard free at the Hawkeye Invitational (4:54.11) ... finished 10th out of 26 swimmers in the 1,650 free at the Hawkeye Invitational (17:04.24) ... selected to the ACC Academic Honor Roll ... earned a monogram.

PREP & PERSONAL: Graduated from Cathedral Catholic High School (Calif.) in the spring of 2013 ... earned four letters in swimming ... finished second in the 500 free at the CIF Championships ... helped team to sixth consecutive CIF title to break the San Diego section record for most consecutive titles ... named a Scholastic All-American ... won first CIF title in the 500 free as a junior ... helped team win team title and tie San Diego record for most consecutive CIF championships (five) ... was runner-up in the 200 free ... was a junior national qualifier and a Scholastic All-American ... as a sophomore was a Scholastic All-American and a junior national qualifier as the team won a CIF championship ... helped team win CIF title as a freshman ... also competed for the North Coast Aquatics club team ... team was honored as a USA Swimming Gold Medal Club ... was a junior national and sectional qualifier ... was the San Diego long course junior Olympic record holder in the 1,500m freestyle heading into senior campaign ... outside of pool participated in Campus Ministry, National Honor Society and the California Scholarship Federation ... received the National Merit Commended Scholar, the Msgr. John A. Dickie Award, the Fr. John Cadden Award and the Rev. Charles Buddy Award ... full name is Molly Katherine Barry ... born in St. Louis, Missouri to Kevin and Mary Kay Barry ... has a younger brother, Brendan, and a younger sister, Kate ... has a cousin, Brian Kuske, who received his MBA from Notre Dame in 2012 ... enrolled in the College of Science at the University, majoring in Science Pre-Professional studies.
