AS A JUNIOR: Specialized in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle ... competed in all three at the BIG EAST Championships, setting season bests in all three with times of 23.03 in the 50, 50.01 in the 100 and 1:49.33 in the 200 ... swam the lead leg in the 400 freestyle relay as the Irish won the BIG EAST title in a season-best 3:19.68 ... also earned All-BIG EAST accolades in the 200 medley and freestyle relays and the 50 and 100 freestyle ... swam final leg of 200 medley relay as team finished second in a season-best and NCAA B-cut time of 1:38.97 ... lead leg in 200 free relay as team swam a season-best 1:31.98 to place second ... also claimed second in the 50 free (23.03) ... finished third in the 100 free (50.01) ... won the 200 free (1:54.54) in a dual meet versus Michigan State ... claimed the 50 free (23.75) title in a dual meet versus Ball State ... finished second in the 100 free (50.32) at the Shamrock Invitational ... claimed third in the 100 free (51.80) in a dual meet versus Purdue ... took home third in the 50 (23.82) and 100 (51.49) freestyle events in a dual meet versus Utah ... touched the pad third in the 100 free (51.67) in a meet versus Michigan and Northwestern ... earned a Monogram.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Amassed two All-BIG EAST honors as a member of the 200 and 400 free relays, which placed second and third, respectively ... set two personal bests at the league meet, stopping the clock at 50.63 in the 100 free for a sixth-place finish and 23.50 in the preliminary swim of the 50 free ... touched the pad in a time of 1:51.92 in the 200 free and also teamed to finish in fifth place in the 800 free relay at the league meet ... raced to a time of 1:51.87 in the 200 free against league foe Louisville ... the performance was a season-best time ... best dual meet performance of the season came against Michigan, taking third place in both the 200 free and 100 free against the Wolverines ... claimed three of the top 10 100 free times on the season ... swam in 12 individual events, all of which were freestyle events, and was also a key member of the Irish relays throughout the season.
AS A FRESHMAN: Swam in eight different events throughout the season ... picked up two all-BIG EAST nods after teaming with the 400 free relay and 800 free relay squads for top-three finishes ... the BIG EAST's first-place finishing 800 free relay (7:13.51) tandem also set a school record ... her 400 free relay (3:19.38) quartet placed third while setting a program best ... also swam the 200 IM (2:05.41) and competed in the finals of the 100 free (50.77) and 200 free (1:49.97) at the league meet ... fastest 200 IM (2:04.69) came at the Ohio State Invitational ... competed at World Championship Trials in the 200 IM (long course meter) after going 2:19.27 at the Volunteer Senior Invitational in Knoxville, Tenn. ... shaved nearly three seconds off of her preliminary time (2:22.36) to earn the invitation.
THE PRESTINARIO FILE: Made her 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials cut time shortly after the meet concluded in July, swimming the 200 IM in a time of 2:19.80 ... excelled in the middle- distance freestyle and individual medley events as a prep at Naperville Central (Ill.) ... claimed a pair of Illinois high school state titles in the 200 IM (2005, 2006) and 200 medley relay (2005, 2006) while racking a championship finish in the 500 free (2006) and the 400 free relay (2004) ... three-time All-American in both the 200 IM and 500 free ... four-time all- conference, all-city and all-state honoree ... three-time conference champion ... four-time team MVP ... four-time Senior National Qualifier (2005-08) and five-time Junior National Qualifier (2004-08) ... born in Elk Grove Village, Ill., on Jan. 9, 1990 ... daughter of Lisa and Joe Prestinario ... has one younger brother, Matt ... enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters as a psychology major.
