Is looking for a big season after battling with injuries much of her career ... will swim the backstroke events again for the Irish. AS A SOPHOMORE: Swam primarily the 50 free and the 100 and 200 backstroke events for the Irish ... posted best times of the season at the Minnesota Invitational in November ... swam 25.26 in the 50 free, 57.92 in the 100 back and 2:05.30 in the 200 back at that meet. AS A FRESHMAN: Missed second half of 2000-01 season due to a shoulder injury suffered in a bicycle accident. Took third place in the 100 backstroke and third in the 200 backstroke against Miami ... finished second in the 100 backstroke at the Purdue meet ... came in third in the 100 backstroke in the Irish's 1-2-3 finish at the quad meet ... also finished fourth in the 200 backstroke ... earned fifth in the 200 backstroke at the Purdue meet ... finished in sixth place in the 100 backstroke and 10th in the 200 backstroke at the Indiana Invitational ... swam on the 400 backstroke relay which set a meet record time of 3:52.26 at the Notre Dame Relays ... had six top-five finishes in the backstroke events. HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: Four-year letterwinner in swimming at Hinsdale Central High School ... earned All-America honors all four years of high school competition ... set the state backstroke record on four different occasions and currently holds the 100-yard backstroke record (55.93) ... one of only five swimmers to win an individual Illinois state championship four years in a row ... regional and conference champion for four years, earning all-state and all-conference accolades as well ... named team MVP her junior and senior seasons ... served as team captain her senior year ... youngest of five children ... also excelled in the freestyle events at Hinsdale ... cousin Max Roberts ('91) is a graduate of Notre Dame ... born April 21, 1982 in Elmhurst, Ill. ... enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters. |
