The Men and Women of the Fighting Irish Swimming and Diving teams hosted Iowa and Ohio State this weekend.
AS A JUNIOR: Versatile member of the Irish, participating in freestyle, butterfly, and individual medley events ... competed at the BIG EAST Championships, swimming the 100 free (51.44), the 100 fly (55.86), and the 200 individual medley (2:04.91) ... set a career-best in prelims in the 100 free (51.13) at the same meet ... also earned All-BIG EAST accolades by assisting the Irish to a NCAA B-cut in the 200 free relay, placing second at the BIG EAST Championships ... season-best time in the 200 IM (2:03.91) and 50 free (23.80) came at the Ohio State Invitational ... placed fourth in the 100 free against league rival Louisville ... helped the 200 medley relay win gold against Pittsburgh ... member of the 400 free relay that took the top spot against Louisville ... named a co-captain with Amy Prestinario before the season ... earned a Monogram.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Specialized in the 50 and 100 freestyle, the 100 butterfly and the 200 individual medley ... swam the third leg on the winning 400 free relay team at the BIG EAST Championships as team finished in a season-best 3:19.68 ... also earned All-BIG EAST honors in the 200 free relay ... competed in the 100 free, 100 fly and 200 IM in addition to the relay teams at the BIG EAST Championships, setting season bests in the 100 free (51.23), 100 fly (55.57) and 200 IM (2:03.15) ... swam final leg in the 200 free relay, as the Irish finished with a season-best time of 1:31.98 to place second ... best time in the 50 free came at the U.S. Short Course Nationals in 23.70 ... also swam the third leg to help the 200 medley relay team to fifth place (1:40.85) ... finished second in the 200 IM (2:08.05) in a dual meet versus Ball State ... claimed third in a dual meet versus Purdue in the 200 IM (2:07.33) ... placed fourth in the 50 free (23.86) in a meet versus Michigan and Northwestern ... earned a Monogram.
AS A FRESHMAN: Received all-BIG EAST honors as a member of the second-place 200 free relay at the league meet ... swam to two personal-best times at the championships with times of 57.02 in the 100 back for a share of 11th place and a time of 23.48 in the 50 free for 15th place ... also touched the pad in 11th place at the league meet in the 100 fly (55.65) ... top 100 fly on the season came at the Hoosierland Invitational with a time of 55.58 for fifth place ... two additional top times on the season came at the invitational with times of 51.96 in the 100 free and 2:05.50 in the 200 fly ... swam the 100 fly in every meet she participated in for a total of seven 100 fly swims ... earned a Monogram.
THE SCOTT FILE: Swam four seasons at Starr's Mill (Ga.) under head coach Rebecca Rickeard ... earned four letters ... team captain and MVP as a senior ... won five state titles and four runner-up finishes ... two-time all-state and garnered All-America honors in each of her four varsity seasons ... eight-time All-American (50 free - 1, 100 fly - 2, 200 free relay - 2, 200 medley relay - 3) ... set six high school team records (50 free, 100 free, 50 back, 100 back, 50 fly and 100 fly) ... team finished third at state meet her junior and senior seasons ... Junior and Senior Nationals qualifier ... made U.S. Olympic Trials cut in the 100 fly ... Georgia state record holder in the 200 medley relay (long course) ... set six program records as a member of the Southern Crescent Aquatic Team ... Fayette County Swimmer of the Year in 2007 and 2008 ... three-time Academic All- American ... member of National Honor Society and Beta Club ... daughter of Lisa and Michael Scott ... oldest of three children ... born in Fort Pierce, Fla. ... enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business as a finance major and is also pursuing a secondary major in Spanish.
