Swimming and Diving Falls to Miami

Corel Gables, Fla. - The Notre Dame women's swimming and diving team was defeated by the University of Miami tonight by a score of 140 - 80. The loss drops the Irish to 0-2 on the season.

Among the bright spots for the Irish was Liz Barger's first place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.32. Also capturing first place was freshman Kelly Hecking 50 backstroke. The 200 freestyle relay team of Brooke Davey, Hecking, Maureen Hillenmeyer, and Laura Shepard was victorious in a time of 1:39.37.

The Notre Dame woman's swimming and diving team returns to action next Friday, October 23 at the Rolfs Aquatic Center in a dual meet versus Army and Air Force.
