TOPEKA, Kan. - The University of Notre Dame women's swimming team raked in 11 first-place finishes, including four individual wins from sophomore Emma Reaney, as the Irish won the Kansas Classic by 123 points over second place Kansas Sunday.

The Irish also earned three individual wins from senior tri-captain Kim Holden and one from sophomore Bridget Casey. Notre Dame also won three relays to pull away from the host Jayhawks.

Meet records broken by Notre Dame include Reaney's 200 IM swim of 2:00.79, 400 IM swim of 4:15.92, 100 breast swim of 1:01.61 and 200 breast swim of 2:13.55, the 400 medley relay's swim of 3:45.09, the 200 medley relay's swim of 1:43.22, Casey's 200 fly swim of 2:03.82, the 400 free relay team's swim of 3:25.23 and Holden's 100 fly swim of 55.06, 100 back swim of 54.94 and 200 back swim of 1:59.58.   

Notre Dame closes out the fall portion of the schedule Nov. 30-Dec. 2 as the diving team heads to the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa, while the swimming team heads to the Ohio State Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.

Day Three

1,650 Free: Sophomore Erin Foley took sixth to lead the way for the Irish, finishing in 17:17.87 to pick up 13 points for Notre Dame. Senior Gracie Fredlake finished eighth in 17:25.91 and fellow senior Jaime Malandra took ninth in 17:27.37.

200 Back: Notre Dame dominated the 200 back as the top three finishers all wore the gold and blue. Holden touched the pad first in a meet-record time of 1:59.58. She was followed closely behind by Emma Reaney (2:01.16) and Kelly Ryan (2:02.17). In the B finals Anna Grainger (2:05.96) placed 13th and Fredlake (2:07.53) took 14th to score seven points towards the Irish total.

100 Free: Galletti (51.76) and Ryan (52.29) placed third and fifth, respectively, to lead the Irish in the A finals. In the B finals Mikelle Masciantonio (53.59), Suzanne Bessire (53.63) and Lauren Scott (54.60) filled up the score sheet, totaling eight points. They finished 13th, 14th and 16th overall. 

200 Breast: Reaney breezed to a dominating victory in the 200 breast, winning by almost six seconds (2:13.55). The time was a new pool record. In the B final, Bradford (2:24.13) finished ninth, Lauren Stauder (2:24.41) took 10th and Christen McDonough (2;24.57) placed 12th to score 21 more points towards the Irish total.   

200 Fly: The Irish had four swimmers place in the A finals of the 200 fly, headlined by Casey's meet record victory in 2:03.82. Holden placed third in 2:06.12, while Melissa Scott (2:06.67) and Courtney Whyte (2:09.46) took fifth and sixth, respectively.  In the B finals Dotzel took 11th in 2:10.07 and Lauren Scott placed 15th 2:13.19 to add eight more points towards Notre Dame's total score.

400 Free Relay: Notre Dame closed out the meet in style with a victory in the 400 free relay with a meet-record time of 3:25.23. Reaney, Ryan, Galletti and Holden swam for the Irish. Notre Dame's B squad of Bradford, Bessire, Dotzel and Masciantonio took sixth in 3:33.41.
