Auburn, Ala. - Notre Dame junior Lisa Garcia qualified for the consolation finals in the 200 butterfly this morning after placing 13th in the preliminaries on the final day of the 2003 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. Garcia swam the race in a time of 1:58.39. Georgia's Mary DeScenza posted the fastest time of 1:55.10 in the morning session.

The NCAA meet concluded for two other Irish swimmers as junior Marie Labosky placed 28th with a time of 2:00.07 in the 200 backstroke, while junior Danielle Hulick was 29th in 2:00.09.

Garcia will compete in tonight's finals which will begin at 7:00 p.m.
