NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Rising sophomore swimmer Amy Prestinario qualified for the World Championship Trials after swimming the 200 Individual Medley (long course meter) in 2:19.27 this past weekend during the Volunteer Senior Invitational held June 11-13 at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn.

Prestinario, who won the event after shaving three seconds off of her preliminary time (2:22.36), now takes part in the national meet held at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI in downtown Indianapolis. The trials will take place July 7-11.

Prestinario was also part of Notre Dame's BIG EAST Championship 800 Free Relay squad in February while also gaining all-league honors in the 400 Free Relay.

Joining Prestinario at the Volunteer Senior Invitational were Meg Reynolds and Katie Casey. Casey won the 200 Fly in a meet-record 2:20.93.
