Women's Swimmers Continue to Compete at Olympic Trials

Two Notre Dame women's swimming team representatives at the 2000 U.S. Olympic Swimming Team Trials in Indianapolis, Ind., competed over the weekend. All-American senior Carrie Nixon (Ouray, Colo.) took 38th place (57.71) in the 100-meter freestyle preliminaries on Sunday, Aug. 13. Nixon still has one event left, the 50-meter freestyle on Aug. 15. She also competed in the 100-meter butterfly on Aug. 9, finishing 29th in 1:02.01.

Allison Lloyd (Fort Wayne, Ind.) swam her second event of the trials, the 200-meter butterfly preliminaries and finished 101st in 2:46.91. Lloyd also swam the 100-meter breaststroke Aug. 11, finishing 86th in 1:16.86.
