The University of Notre Dame women's swimming and diving team (6-1 in the dual meet season) is in second place at the 2000 Indiana University Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. The three-day event kicked off on Friday morning and will continue through Sunday. Notre Dame has 258 points through nine events while Indiana is first with 356 points.

Freshman Marie Labosky (Churchville, Pa.) provided the highlight for Irish on the day, as she won the 200 individual medley (2:05.21) and finished third in the 500 freestyle (4:57.21).

Junior diver Heather Mattingly (Houston, Texas) scored some significant points for the Irish with a second place finish in the three-meter diving finals (490.00 points).

The 400 medley relay team of junior Kelly Hecking (Rutherford, N.J.), freshman Laurie Musgrave (Littleton, Colo.), sophomore Amy Deger (Pittsburgh, Pa.), and freshman Danielle Hulick (Galesburg, Ill.) finished second in 3:54.09 to complete the day's swimming.
