    Notre Dame Women's Tennis Rolls Past Providence

    MIAMI, Fla. -- The University of Notre Dame women's tennis team posted a 4-0 win over Providence in the quarterfinal of the Big East Conference championship on Friday. Notre Dame, the top seed in the event, will now play in Saturday's semifinals against the winner of Friday night's Boston College vs. Syracuse match.

    Notre Dame was the top seed in the event and drew a bye in Thursday's first round. The Irish improve to 15-10 on the season and are ranked No. 23 in the country.

    Senior Tiffany Gates and freshman Kelly Zalinski were winners in both singles and doubles for the Irish, the defending league champions.
