Women's Tennis defeated Illinois 4 to 3 in the Eck Tennis Pavilion on February 19th.

Women's Tennis lost to North Carolina 3 to 4 on Saturday February 18th in the Eck Tennis Pavilion.

AS A SENIOR:The two-time captain had an impressive final campaign, posting a 19-11 singles record (14-8 dual) along with a 23-14 doubles mark (15-13 dual) ... began NCAA Tournament play at the Evanston, Ill., regional, rallying to defeat Northwestern's Alicia Barnett (2-6, 6-2, 6-4), which aided Notre Dame's advancement to the Sweet 16 ... rallied once again to top 77th-ranked Erin Routliffe of Alabama (1-6, 6-4, 6-2) at the Sweet 16 in Athens, Ga. ... during the course of the spring regular season, was victorious against four nationally ranked opponents: No. 75 Sarah Lee of Michigan, No. 44 Hanna Mar of Duke, No. 47 Stephanie Nauta of Virginia and No. 41 Caroline Price of North Carolina ... had a blistering start to the fall season, sweeping the field to a glistening 4-0 singles record at the Ball State Fall Invitational ... was equally impressive in doubles play during final collegiate season ... swept the field with Monica Robinson at both the Ball State Fall Invitational and United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association en route to a 6-0 start to the fall season ... won both doubles matches in the ACC Tournament with Julie Sabacinski, vanquishing Wan-Yi Sweeting and Katya Vasilyev of Boston College (8-3) in the first round, and narrowly defeating the 46th-ranked duo of Kelsey Laurente and Melissa Bolivar of Miami, Fla., (5-4) ... once again teamed with Julie Sabacinski, bested Kelsey Lawson and Jasmin Kling of DePaul (8-5) in the first round of the Evanston, Ill., regional ... earned a monogram.

AS A JUNIOR:Named to the all-BIG EAST team for the second time in three seasons ... one of five Notre Dame student-athletes to receive a BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Award ... earned BIG EAST Academic All-Star accolades for the third straight year ... selected as the Notre Dame Club of St. Joseph Valley Knute Rockne Student-Athlete Award winner ... logged a 18-13 singles record (16-10 in dual matches) in the number two position in the Irish lineup, and added a 22-10 slate in doubles action ... defeated Michigan State's Marina Bohrer (6-3, 6-2) at the United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional Championships ... teamed up with Chrissie McGaffigan to post a 3-1 doubles record at the USTA/ITA Midwest Regionals ... the duo advanced to the semifinals after an 8-2 win over Youngstown State ... finished a perfect 3-0 at the Western Michigan Super Challenge, obtaining two victories with teammate Molly O'Koniewski and a 9-7 win alongside McGaffigan ... finished with a 1-2 singles record at Western Michigan after downing Bowling Green's Nikki Chiricosta (6-0, 6-3) ... began spring campaign with a win over Bowling Green's Nikki Chiricosta (6-4, 6-3) ... earned highest career singles win over a ranked opponent against No. 59 Allison Falkin from No. 24 Illinois, taking the match in straight sets (6-3, 6-0) ... ran season-opening victory streak to three with a come from behind triumph over Kendal Woodard from No. 22 Georgia Tech (4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-5)) ... swept Mara Schmidt of No. 24 Purdue (6-2, 6-1) ... downed Victoria Kisialeva (No. 19 Baylor) after only two sets (6-2, 6-4) ... continued winning streak by defeating Indiana's Katie Klyczek (6-2, 2-6, 6-3) ... blanked Western Michigan's Maggie Remynse (6-2, 6-0) ... closed out UAB's Rachel Daniell (7-5, 6-4) and Georgia Tech's Natasha Prokhnevska (6-4, 6-4) in straight sets ... snapped a two-match losing skid with a victory in two sets against Marquette's Aina Hernandez Soler (6-2, 6-3) ... closed regular season with wins over Liza Tymchenko from Memphis (7-6 (7-3), 6-4) and Central Florida's Jenna Doerfler (6-2, 6-3) ... opened BIG EAST Championship play with a first round victory against Marquette's Erin Gebes (6-2, 6-3) ... blanked DePaul's Patricia Fargas in the BIG EAST semifinal round (7-6, 6-4) ... earned a first round NCAA Championship win over North Carolina State's Tatiana Illova (7-6, 6-3) ... paired off with McGaffigan throughout the spring in doubles matches ... pair led the 11th ranked tandem of Melissa Kopinski and Rachael White of Illinois 6-5 when the match was abandoned due to the doubles point being secured on another court ... capped off three-match win streak with an 8-5 decision against DePaul's Matea Cutura and Patricia Fargas ... closed regular season by winning final four contests, including an 8-3 tilt against No. 51 Courtney Collins and Kelly Gray (Memphis) ... twosome reached a season-high watermark of 55 in the ITA rankings entering the BIG EAST Championship ... won two of three matches at the BIG EAST Championship, downing USF's Loreto Alonso-Martin and Katie Vasenina 8-3 during the tournament final ... dropped the North Carolina State pairing of Joelle Kissel and Tatiana Illova 8-6 in the first round of the NCAA Championship.

AS A SOPHOMORE:Opened the fall season ranked 87th in the ITA singles rankings, a career-high slot in the poll ... named BIG EAST Player of the Week for March 6-13 ... finished the 2011-12 campaign with a 26-8 singles record ... compiled a 6-2 mark during the fall, reaching a third set in only one match ... earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Illinois' Chelcie Abajian in the consolation draw of the USTA/ITA Regional Championships ... won eight straight singles matches to close the fall slate and open the spring ... reached an ITA singles ranking of 124 during dual play ... defeated No. 110 Marie Casares 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 at No. 18 Vanderbilt ... downed South Florida's Danielle Mills 6-4, 6-2 during the Irish's win in the BIG EAST Championship match ... competed in second and third doubles with teammate Chrissie McGaffigan in dual play, finishing 28-8 overall ... together the duo went on a seven-match winning streak in the month of March ... shut out the team of Carolin Neumann/Cali Gustafson of No. 70 DePaul 8-0 in the semifinals of the BIG EAST Championship ... closed the campaign with an 8-5 win over Kate Turvy/Belinda Niu in the second round of the NCAA Championships against No. 12 Northwestern ... member of the BIG EAST Academic All-Star Team.

AS A FRESHMAN:Saw ample playing time in first season with the Irish ... finished season with a singles record of 25-6, including 19-6 during the dual season in split time between courts No. 3, 4 and 5 ... named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star and selected to all-BIG EAST Team ... selected as BIG EAST Player of the Week for March 15 ... earned first monogram ... most success enjoyed at No. 4 singles, finishing with a mark of 6-0 ... notched four wins over ranked opponents ... climbed as high as 95th in the ITA rankings ... opened the year winning her flight at the Eck Tennis Classic, recording wins over Ohio State's Tiffany Dittmer (6-0, 6-0), Miami (OH)'s Riekie Honiball (6-0, 6-1), and a pair of Tulsa players in Ewa Szatkowska (6-5, 6-2) and Anastasia Erofeeva (4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (9-7)) in the semifinals and finals, respectively ... ended fall season with a pair of wins at the Midwest Blast, knocking off Memphis' Sarah Witkowski (6-1, 6-0) before defeating Oklahoma State's Tara Eckel (6-4, 6-2) ... began the dual season at the No. 5 spot, posting a record of 5-2 and earning her first win over a ranked opponent when she defeated Vanderbilt's 64th-ranked Rachael Dillon in a three-set battle, 2-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 ... moved to No. 4 singles for seven total matches, finishing a perfect 6-0 with one match going unfinished ... notched another win against a ranked foe as she won over Baylor's Karolina Filipiak (4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (11-9)), who was ranked 70th ... concluded the season at the No. 3 spot, registering an 8-4 ledger overall ... earned final two wins against ranked competition at this spot, defeating No. 76 Janette Bejlkova of South Florida (1-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-4)) and No. 87 Kate Turvy of Northwestern (6-3, 6-1) ... finished the season with a record of 17-12 in doubles including 12-12 on the dual season, primarily with Julie Sabacinski as parter at the No. 3 court ... ended with a mark of 5-2 when called upon at No. 2 doubles and 7-10 at No. 3 doubles ... finished with perfect doubles record during the fall season (4-0), that also saw her and teammate Britney Sanders win their flight at the Eck Tennis Classic with wins over Miami (OH)'s Stephanie Danesis and Riekie Honiball (8-5), Kansas' Sara Lazarevic and Monica Pezzotti (8-3) and Tulsa's Jo-Anna Karaitiana and Alexandra Kichoutikin (8-1), who also entered as the 21st-ranked doubles tandem in the nation ... ended dual season on high note, finishing with four wins in final five matches as well as leading in match over Fresno State's Bianca Modoc and Abby Hayley (6-3) before it was abandoned.
