EVANSTON, Ill. - Sophomore Kristy Frilling ended her impressive run at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships Tuesday with a loss in the final match.

The 20th-ranked Frilling fell to Northwestern's top-ranked Maria Mosolova, 6-1, 6-3, in the singles championship match.

The Sidney, Ohio native battled through the first set, and was up 3-2 in the second, before Mosolova took over.

Frilling is now 5-2 in singles action this season, and 7-2 in doubles play. Frilling is also the Midwest Regional doubles runner-up with partner Kali Krisik.

The Irish will now turn their attention to the National Indoor Championships, which get underway Nov. 5 in New Haven, Conn., and the Western Michigan Invitational that starts Nov. 6 in Kalamazoo, Mich.
