Women's Tennis Has Success at Clay Court Championships

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Notre Dame junior women's tennis player Jennifer Hall advanced to the third round of the National Clay Court Championships in Orlando, Fla., with two straight set wins on Thursday. The 10th seed of the 64 player field opened the tournament with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Bonnie Blecker of Florida. Hall continued her run in the second round with another straight set win, beating South Alabama's Lenka Jakubekova by a score of 6-4, 6-4. Hall will face Pepperdine's Karoline Borgersen in the third round on Friday.

Hall will then pair up with teammate Tiffany Gates as the fourth-seeded Irish doubles team will face Lauren Bittles and Meg Griffin of Maryland in the first round of the doubles competition on Friday.
