Notre Dame Women's Tennis Defeats Purdue 6-1
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The 15th-ranked Notre Dame women's tennis team
improved to 2-0 on the season with a 6-1 victory over Purdue at the Drake
Tennis Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Notre Dame won five of six singles matches and earned the point in doubles
after winning two of three matches. All five winners in singles won their
matches in two sets.
The only Irish player not to win her singles match was Marisa Velasco who
lost in three sets by Jennifer Embry 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.
Purdue falls to 0-3 on the season with the loss.
