Women's Tennis Falls To Fourth-Ranked Texas
AUSTIN, Texas - Notre Dame's women's tennis team split six singles matches with fourth-ranked Texas before the Longhorns won two doubles matches to clinch a 5-3 win in match completed late Saturday night when rain forced the competition to be moved indoors. The loss drops the Irish to 11-5 on the season.
Michelle Dasso, Marissa Velasco and Tiffany Gates won three singles matches at Nos. 2-4 singles matches for the three Irish points. Texas won at Nos. 1, 4 and 5 to set up the doubles win. The Longhorns won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles and won a tight 8-6 decision at No. 2 to clinch the win.
