Notre Dame Defeats Michigan, 5-4

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Notre Dame women's tennis team improved its record to 12-5 on the season with a 5-4 win over Michigan on Wednesday afternoon. Michigan falls to 5-6 on the year.

Notre Dame opened the match by winning four of six singles matches, including a 6-3, 6-2 win by freshman Michelle Dasso at No. 2 singles over Danielle Lund. Dasso now has a 16-0 record in dual match play this season in singles and is 31-4 overall. Senior Tiffany Gates, junior Marisa Velasco and sophomore Kelly Zalinski also won singles matches for the Irish.

The Irish No. 2 doubles team of Dasso and Velasco clinched the match for the Irish with an 8-6 win over Sora Moon and Jen Boylan.
