NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team returns home this weekend to meet its first ranked opponent in No. 13 Michigan at the Eck Tennis Pavilion.

On The Wolverines
- Michigan is ranked No. 13 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division I Women’s Tennis rankings and opened the season with two wins over Denver and Mississippi State last weekend during the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, earning a spot in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.
- The Wolverines boast four singles players in the Oracle/ITA rankings: No. 20 Kate Fahey, No. 60 Alex Najarian, No. 78 Chiara Lommer and No. 80 Brienne Minor. Fahey and Najarian make up the nation’s No. 4 doubles team, while Minor and Mira Ruder-Hook rank 29th nationally.
- Michigan is 7-0 in singles matches this season and 3-2 in doubles decisions.
- The Irish are 22-15 all time against the Wolverines, and 20-10 under head coach Jay Louderback.
Last Time Out
The Irish put on another impressive performance last Sunday when they defeated Pittsburgh in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup on the road. In defeating the Panthers 6-1, the Irish improved to 3-0 on the season. Senior Monica Robinson, junior Allison Miller and freshmen Bess Waldram and Zoe Spence all improved to 3-0 in dual singles matches this season, with the Irish collectively going 17-1 in singles through their first three matches.
Junior Brooke Broda entered the dual season ranked No. 92 in the Oracle/ITA DIvision I National Women’s Singles Rankings. The West Chester, Ohio, product is 7-3 on the season and is coming off an All-ACC Third Team appearance last season after posting a 28-2 mark, including 22-1 in dual matches.
