NOTRE DAME, Ind. --- The University of Notre Dame women's tennis team experienced 18 years of dominance in the BIG EAST, having won the last six conference championships. At the start of the season, head coach Jay Louderback said that the team's transition to the Atlantic Coast Conference would bring all new challenges and provide the opportunity for growth.

That sentiment will hold especially true this Friday, as the No. 25 Notre Dame travels to Durham, N.C. to play Duke, the No. 1 team in the country, for just the third ACC match of the season.

"We are preparing for them as just another ACC match," Louderback explains. "They are all good."

Notre Dame is 5-4 on the season. The team had a rough start to ACC play last weekend after falling to Miami after a close loss to Georgia Tech, but Louderback says the Irish have been focused during practice this week.

"We have been working on doubles," he says of their preparation. Notre Dame has lost the doubles point during each of the last three matches. "And we're looking to be more consistent in our singles."

The match will get underway tomorrow, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. at Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center.
