    Notre Dame takes on Valparaiso in the Shamrock Invite

    Notre Dame dropped the last match of the Shamrock Invitational, 3-1, to Valparaiso on Sunday, August 31.

    Two-time team captain ... hindered by an ankle injury that kept her off the court for the bulk of her junior and senior seasons ... capable of playing on the outside or at the opposite ... strong all-around player with good skills in the back row and on the front line ... adapted well to her roles with the Irish ... smart player and steady performer ... played with tremendous poise ... the first ever recipient of the Notre Dame Monogram Club Postgraduate Scholarship.

    As a Senior (2008):Fought through an ankle injury for the entire season ... started the campaign with four kills on six swings (.667) against IPFW (Aug. 29) ... also had an assist and a pair of digs in the 3-0 sweep ... punched in four more kills at Minnesota (Sept. 14) with a season-high five coming against Western Michigan (Sept. 21) ... played in 23 sets throughout 11 matches ... was good for 1.00 point/set ... totaled 21 kills, three assists and 10 digs ... cleanly received each of the 12 serves that came her way, giving her a perfect pct. for the second straight season ... after sitting out for most of the BIG EAST portion of the schedule, she made a start against Xavier on Senior Day and threw out the opening serve which resulted in an Irish point.

    As a Junior (2007):Saw limited action while recovering from off-season surgery ... appeared in six matches while playing in 11 sets ... stepped in to log her first action of the season against No. 11 California (Sept. 15) ... registered one kill on three attempts for a .333 average against the Golden Bears ... in the BIG EAST Conference opener at Pittsburgh (Sept. 22), shot down a season-high eight kills and tacked on one assist ... also finished with four digs and 8.0 total points in that match ... broke a sweat in matches versus No. 22 Santa Clara (Sept. 16), Marquette (Oct. 12), UConn (Oct. 27) and made her home debut against South Florida (Nov. 4) ... posted perfect serve and reception percentages (1.000) in each match played.

    As a Sophomore (2006):Led the team in kills on 10 occasions ... appeared in 105 sets ... played in all 32 matches while picking up 21 starts ... finished third on the squad with 315 kills and was fourth with 211 digs ... picked up a total of 76 blocks (0.72/set) ... second on the team with nine double-doubles and 377 points (3.59/set) ... a first-team all-BIG EAST selection ... BIG EAST Player of the Week (Nov. 6) ... named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll (Nov. 25) ... her run of seven consecutive double-doubles to end the season was the second longest streak ever in the Irish record books ... stepped up her play in the BIG EAST Tournament by notching a double-double in each of the squad's three matches ... threw down a season-best 25 kills at Cincinnati (Nov. 17) in the tournament's first round ... registered 16 kills and 19 digs vs. No. 24 St. John's (Nov. 18) and 12 kills with 14 digs vs. Louisville (Nov. 19) ... also pitched in a double-double at Wisconsin (Dec. 1) in the NCAA Tournament with 10 kills and 10 digs ... recorded double-figure kills in each of her last 12 matches and double-figure digs in eight of the last nine matches ... had 14 kills against No. 13 Missouri (Sept. 2) ... tied a career-best with six block assists at Cincinnati (Oct. 28) ... had 15 kills on a .462 hitting percentage and 14 digs at Villanova (Sept. 24) ... at Georgetown (Oct. 3) she had 13 kills on a .417 hitting percentage ... visited USF (Nov. 5) and tallied 15 kills and .560 hitting percentage ... had 13 kills and 17 digs against both Pittsburgh (Nov. 11) and West Virginia (Nov. 12).

    As a Freshman (2005):Notre Dame's most-used freshman saw action in 26 matches, made 15 starts at outside hitter and played in 70 sets ... averaged 2.79 kills/set on .203 hitting to go with 1.41 digs/set and 3.19 points/set ... ranked fourth on team in reception attempts (77) with a .935 reception percentage ... started 11 of the season's first 14 matches ... in her Irish debut, she had 15 kills and 10 digs for 16.0 points in Notre Dame's win over No. 11 Texas (Sept. 3) ... also took 14 serves without making an error against the Longhorns ... parlayed that performance with 15 kills and 22 digs with four blocks for 18.5 points one day later against Arizona State (Sept. 4) ... tabbed to the Shamrock Invitational All-Tournament team for her efforts over the two-match stretch (10 games played, 30 kills, .212 hitting percentage, 32 digs, five blocks, 34.5 points) and was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week (Sept. 5) ... posted a team-best 19 kills to go with 16 digs and four blocks for season-high 22.5 points against Louisiana State (Sept. 18) ... had seven kills on .417 hitting against Seton Hall (Sept. 25)... notched a team-high 17 kills on .400 hitting in three-set win against Syracuse (Sept. 30) ... had 11 kills at Marquette (Oct. 2) ... in her final start of the early season, posted six kills on 12 errorless swings for a personal-best .500 attack percentage at UConn (Oct. 9) ... converted all four of her swings for kills at West Virginia (Nov. 5) ... had eight kills on .294 hitting in two sets against Rutgers (Nov. 13) ... provided a spark off the bench in the BIG EAST Tournament finale at No. 7 Louisville (Nov. 20), posting 15 kills - her highest total in over two months - on .310 hitting to go with a pair of blocks for 16.5 points ... had not played in more than two games in any match prior to that since Oct. 9 ... posted a team-high 18 kills to go with five digs and a collegiate-high five blocks for 21 points in the Irish's NCAA first-round victory against Dayton (Dec. 1) ... tied for a team-high 18 kills to go along with seven digs and four blocks for 20.5 points against No. 12 Wisconsin (Dec. 9) to end the season.
