AS A JUNIOR: Appeared in all 31 matches and 92 of the 116 games, fifth-most on the team in ’98 ... opened the season as the starter on the right side, but later split time with fellow left-hander Kristy Kreher ... allowed Christi Girton to move over to the much needed outside hitter position ... improved in almost every category due to increased playing time and clean bill of health ... had eight matches with double-digit kills and four with double-digit digs ... notched three double-doubles (kills/digs), including her first against Oral Roberts ... put away match point in the BIG EAST Championship match against Georgetown, crushing a cross-court spike for Notre Dame’s fourth consecutive title and seventh straight NCAA bid ... came through in the clutch in the BIG EAST Championship match with 10 kills and only one error on 25 attempts (.360) ... had nine digs and four blocks against the Hoyas ... led or shared the team lead in kills four times ... had back-to-back 17-kill matches against Connecticut and Fairfield ... hit a career-high .483 against the Fairfield Stags ... hit over .400 in five matches ... had great success against Oral Roberts in both ‘98 and ‘97, tallying 14 kills on 37 attempts with 15 digs and nine blocks (career-high) ... had 17 kills on .368 hitting–plus seven blocks–vs. Oral Roberts in 1997 ... registered two double-doubles in a row versus Villanova (10 kills, 15 digs) and Pittsburgh (16 kills, 14 digs) ... averaged at least four kills per game in matches versus Michigan State (4.50), Illinois State (4.00) and Duke (4.00). AS A SOPHOMORE: Opened as starting rightside hitter in ’97 ... appeared in 14 matches (37 games), with 68 kills on .216 hitting, plus 35 blocks, 31 digs, 17 assists and eight aces ... earned all-tournament honors at the Shamrock Invitational, totaling 37 kills (3.08/gm) on .370 hitting (7 errors, 81 att.), plus 15 block assists, five aces, 10 digs and three assists ... struggled to rediscover that form, with her last appearance coming October 12 at Providence (she did not play in the final 17 matches) ... opened with .533 hitting (8 kills, 0 err., 15 att.) versus Louisville before recording 17 kills on .368 hitting–plus seven blocks–vs. Oral Roberts ... wrapped up Shamrock with 12 kills vs. Wisconsin ... had six kills, three blocks and three digs vs. Gonzaga in the Spikeoff Spokane before adding five kills vs. Utah and three vs. Washington State (plus four blocks) ... had career-high five assists, plus three kills and three digs vs. New Mexico (3-0) ... served two aces and assisted on five blocks vs. Georgia (at CU Invitational). AS A FRESHMAN: Appeared in 10 matches (16 games) in ’96 while backing up four-year starter Jenny Birkner ... had four kills (one error) on seven attempts versus Seton Hall and three kills (no errors) on five swings against Rutgers ... served an ace in win over South Carolina ... assisted on blocks vs. South Carolina and George Mason ... played one game in NCAA Tournament versus Hofstra and #12 Ohio State. PREP & PERSONAL: Lettered on Concordia Academy volleyball team as a freshman and sophomore ... led team to conference titles in ’92 and ’93, to state tournament consolation round in ’92 and to fourth place in ’93 state tourney ... served as team manager as a junior, after tearing the ACL in her left knee during last match of ’94 Junior Olympics with Northern Lights Volleyball Club ... after surgery and rehabilitation, she returned in the summer of ’95 to lead Northern Lights to fifth at the Junior Olympics ... suffered another ACL injury–to her right knee–five minutes into season opener of her senior year at Concordia ... again went through surgery before returning the following spring to Northern Lights, which again placed fifth at the Junior Olympics, in ’96 ... all-conference, all-metro and all-state as a sophomore ... selected to all-state tournament team ... played prep basketball for two years and participated in track and field from 1993-95 ... three times all-conference in track and field ... set school record for shot put (36-7) and discus (127-11) ... has a twin brother Evan ... born October 7, 1977 in Minneapolis, Minn. ... daughter of Dave and Ronda Schiebout ... full name is Emily Marie Schiebout ... enrolled in the College of Science, as a double major in science and business. |
