NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The 17th-ranked Colorado State volleyball team won its 19th straight home match and remained a perfect 13-0 in 1999 with a 15-9, 15-7, 15-7 victory over visiting Notre Dame (6-3), Saturday at Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colo.

The Irish jumped ahead in the first game 7-2, but were then outscored 13-2 by the Rams, who eventually claimed a 15-9 victory. Colorado State then used that momentum to capture game two (15-7) and game three (15-7) and win the match.

Notre Dame was led for the second straight night by junior outside hitter Christi Girton (Muncie, Ind.), who had 13 kills to go along with nine digs. Sophomore outside hitter Marcie Bomhack (Waukesha, Wis.) also added eight kills and senior captain Mary Leffers (Tampa, Fla.) tallied seven blocks in the loss.

The Irish, whose three losses have all come against ranked opponents, return home next weekend to open BIG EAST play against West Virginia (Oct. 1) and Pittsburgh (Oct. 5).
