SCOUTING THE IRISH

Notre Dame has a record of 19-7 on the season and 10-4 in the ACC. The Irish have already won 12 more matches than during the 2015 campaign and have recorded the most ACC wins in program history. Notre Dame split last weekend’s matchups, winning Friday’s match at Wake Forest in straight sets before falling to Duke in four frames on Sunday. The Irish are the top serving team in the conference, as the team averages 1.84 aces per set. Individually freshman Jemma Yeadon leads the attack, averaging a team-high 2.79 kills per set.

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS

Louisville comes into Wednesday with an 8-16 record on the season and 3-11 mark in the ACC. The Cardinals earned a split in their two matches last weekend, falling to Duke in three sets on Friday before bouncing back to Wake Forest on Sunday. Melanie McHenry leads Louisville in kills with 3.12 per set.

SERIES HISTORY VS. LOUISVILLE

The Cardinals are a familiar foe to the Irish as the two sides will meet for the 33rd time on Wednesday evening. Notre Dame leads the series with a record of 21-11, winning four of the last six. The Irish won the first meeting this season, sweeping the Cardinals in Purcell Pavilion on Sept. 23.

MOST ACC WINS IN PROGRAM HISTORY

The Irish are in the midst of their breakout season in the ACC. The team is currently 10-4 in the league, its best start since joining the conference in 2013. Notre Dame’s 10 victories are already the most the program has recorded in a single season in the ACC.

ROAD WARRIORS

The Irish have been exceptional when playing away from home this season, posting a record of 11-2 in road and neutral matches this season. Notre Dame has dropped just one match on the road in the ACC, posting victories over Miami, Syracuse, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest all in straight sets. The 11 wins are the most for the Irish since winning 15 matches away from home in 2005.

UP NEXT

Notre Dame returns to Purcell Pavilion this weekend, as the Irish host Virginia at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13. Notre Dame is then back on the road the next weekend, as the team travels to Clemson and Georgia Tech.
