We have won six games in a row. This is the longest winning streak we have had within the Big East ever. We are currently the top team in our division of the Conference, which is nice.
Being in first place is right where you want to be at this point in the season. It is exciting for everyone that is involved with Notre Dame basketball to involved in a race for a Big East regular season championship.
We are really not discussing being in the run for a regular season title, not even in practice. Our goal is not let the little petty things affect us, like they may have last year or at other times.
Earlier this year we were ranked tenth in the country. Now that we are back in the rankings, we definitely value it more because we saw how fast a team can fall out.
The team use to discuss the rankings earlier in the season. We do not discuss them now because we know that rankings do not mean anything. At that time, we were not playing like the tenth-ranked team in the country or anything close to it.
Now we have started playing the way we are capable of playing. We have gotten some wins together so we just hope that we can keep the momentum going.
