It is going to feel great to finally start the regular season. We have been waiting for this moment since we played Wake Forest last year in the NIT.
It was a long summer and we are just ready to get the season going so people can start talking about the team instead of all the changes we have had. I look forward to Saturday's game as well as the rest of the team.
Also it is great to be walking around hearing people ask where they can get tickets to the game. It is really something else because there were times when we would play with only half the Joyce Center filled. At that time, we would consider that a good crowd.
The crowds at the Joyce Center will be tremendous especially with almost all the games being sellouts. To have such tremendous support this year from the students as well as the people in the community, just says a lot about where this program is headed.
Against Sacred Heart, our team needs to pick ups its defensive intensity. We have to strive hard to work on the defensive end and not worry so much about what happens on offense.
There will be times when people's shots are not falling so that is when we have to try harder on the defensive end. You can always control what happens defensively but not necessarily offensively.
Personally, I just to want to work on rebounding and defending well. I am not sure what will be asked of me on Saturday because I do not know much about the Sacred Heart team. Hopefully we can just play well and everything will work out okay.
