Doherty Named To Watchlist

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – After a remarkable start to the season which has seen senior midfielder MK Doherty contribute 20 goals, 30 points and 48 draw controls, the Summit, New Jersey native was added to the 2024 Tewaaraton Watchlist as announced by the committee Thursday.

A year after eclipsing 100 draw controls in a single season, Doherty is on pace to surpass her 2023 total and ranks second on the team currently. She most notable was awarded numerous player of the week awards, both nationally and in the ACC, following a series of game-winning goals to improve her season total.

In her position at the midfield, Doherty also has been a key in the team’s transitional offense this season, causing seven turnovers and setting up countless goals. In addition to her standout draw control and caused turnover numbers, she has scooped up 12 ground balls this season, averaging just over one per game.

Doherty joins four other Irish individuals on the Watchlist, including Madison Ahern, Kasey Choma, Kelly Denes and Jackie Wolak.
